Jon @ Hot Dog House

I’ve never felt particularly motivated to shoot black & white film or process digital images in black & white. Even when I was a student, my teachers told me there was “something missing” from my black & white film projects. It never really bothered me though. I was just motivated to create color photographs. “You see better in color,” one professor said. I didn’t disagree.

But every once in a while, it works. I end up a little surprised and a little delighted but most importantly, I feel connected to the images. These feel like Jon. They feel like the songs on the album. They feel like those shitty grey days in Asbury Park when the snow is melting and it’s just mixed with fucking gravel and half the letters on the GREETINGS FROM ASBURY PARK sign are out. But at least we survived another winter. At least you didn’t start smoking cigarettes again.
