If these walls could talk they’d never run out of things to say. These walls would be the life of the cocktail party, a great motivational speaker, the most informed politician, and one helluva storyteller. Maybe you’ve caught on to this too but this is a subculture of our city. It’s a cluster of people that come together, opposite and the same; a conundrum. We’ve laughed till we’ve cried, cried till we’ve laughed, argued politics, cracked lame or perverted jokes, relaxed, wound down, got all wound up, or just felt safe and at home. The patrons here say, “Yeah, I’m going to the pub.” and if someone replies, “What pub?” we give them a funny look because this is the only pub in our book.
This year marked ten years after Tom and Amy Scott first opened the doors of McGrath’s and my, what a marvelous ten years they’ve had! On Saturday they collected all the help they could find, roasted some pigs, got a beer truck, a band, and set up an Anniversary Block Party. People ate well, drank, listened to the music, participated or watched an oyster shucking contest and a wing eating contest, and had a good time. Hell, even the mayor stopped by…
